Dummies Guide to NBA Finals

Who pays attention to the NBA anymore? I don't until it is playoff time. Here are the need to know facts so you won't feel out of the loop should it happen to come up over Happy Hour beers tonight.

Teams Playing:

Miami Heat 3

San Antonio Spurs 3

Players to watch:

Lebron James, Miami Heat

Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs

GAME 1

The play of Game 1 was Tony Parker's end of the game scramble resulting in a bucket that secured the Spurs' victory. Without the bucket, the Heat still had a chance to tie or win, but this made the game a two possesion game and there was just not enough time left. I still don't like Tony Parker for cheating on Eva Longoria, but this was pretty fun to watch! Score: 92-88

GAME 2

Miami dominated San Antonio. Score: 103-84

GAME 3

San Antonio dominated Miami more. Score: 113-77

GAME 4

With James and Wade each scoring over 30 points, the Heat got a solid victory over the Spurs. Score: 109-93

GAME 5

It was considered a surprise that Spurs head coach Gregg Papovich started Manu Ginobili, but the shooting guard went on to score 24 points in route to a Spurs victory. The game five winner has 7-3 odds to with the championship. Score: 114-104

GAME 6

By far the game of the series! The fourth quarter of this game offered a highlight reel like no other. Despite 30 points by Duncan, James rallied his troops to a wild comeback capped off by two Bosh blocks to prevent the Spurs from stealing the win. Score: 103-100

I have LOVED watching the 2013 Finals. Each team has- a close win, a decent win, and a blow out in the six games thus far. To me all is tied up going into Game 7 and I expect it to be one for the ages!

UPDATE:

Not to brag, but I was right. This was one for the ages! After an incredibale series, game 7 did not let us down. The game's most dominant active player, Lebron James, ruled the night with 37 points. Teammate Chris Bosh had a disappointing 0 points, while Dwayne Wade contributed 23. Veteran, Tim Duncan, of the Spurs missed a crucial game tying bucket toward the end of the game. Ironic since he made a super difficult over-the shoulder jumper right before that. Congrats to the Miami Heat on back-to-back championships and congrats to King James on back-to-back MVP honors. Also, I have to say that the fans from both organizations have been class acts. Spurs fans are genuinely congratulating the champs and Heat fans are giving props to the runners up for a hard-fought game. I love good sportsmanship!
