Aaron Hernandez Drama: It's Like an Episode of Law & Order.

Hernandez, former tight end for the New England Partriots, is in a world of trouble. Once Massachussetts State Police connected him to the June 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, the story unraveled quickly. A timeline of events:

- June 17th the body of Lloyd is found 1 mile from the Hernandez's home.

- June 18th police search Hernandez's home in North Attelboro. The home security system had been destroyed and his cell phone was turned over to police in pieces. A cleaning service company had been to the home...hmmm, wonder why...

- June 26th Hernandez is arrested and charged with murder.

- June 26th the Patriots release Hernandez.

In light of the murder investigation, past transgressions by Hernandez are of interest again.  As a freshman at the University of Florida Hernandez had a run in with the law after punching a waiter in the head when he disagreed with the bill amount at The Swamp in Gainesville. Hernandez is also a person of interest in a double murder that took place in Boston during the Summer of 2012. There is also a former "friend" claiming Hernandez shot him on February 13, 2013 after a bar fight in Miami.

Once a thug, always a thug, I guess...

Manziel Disease

Last year Johnny Manziel became the first freshman to win the Heisman. Since then he has been acting out Justin Beiber style. What do I mean by that? Well, he isn't exactly committing felonies like our friend above, but he is tweeting immature things, not keeping his partying on the DL, and overall just acting like a little teenage boy and not a young man that is the face of a program. More of a publicity headache than a thug issue, but it has been the talk of the off season.

To add to the PR issues, he is under investigation by the NCAA for selling his autograph to fans. You cannot in any way profit from being an amateur collegiate athlete. If you do, it makes you ineligible. We can argue all day if that rule needs to be amended, but as it reads right now, if this is true he was in violation of the rules of this league and therefore not eligible. So far no evidence has come out proving these allegations, but I am sure it has added to the lack of sleep the media relations staff at Texas A & M is probably now enjoying as a result of this kid.

All these minor incidents lead many to think his phenomenal freshman season  has gone to his head. Reporters are dubbing the immature actions after quick success "Manziel Disease." In fact, another freshman QB taking the field this season, Jameis Winston of Florida State, fell into a trap question when asked if he would get Manziel Disease saying, "If I get [Johnny] 'Manziel disease,' I want every one of y'all to get your mics and just start [hitting me] on the head."  I for one am interested to see if he can keep the public fascination train rolling by being electrifying in 2013 or if he will be distracted and hit a sophomore slump.
